AS and A Level Media Studies update
13 May 2025
Following the renaming of the social media platform Twitter to X, we’ve amended the following specifications to reflect this change:
We’ve also amended the Twitter references in our delivery guides and sample assessment materials for AS and A Level Media Studies.
A Level Media Studies H409/01
In addition, following the Guardian newspaper’s change to its social media presence, we’ve made further amendments to our specification for A Level Media Studies H409 – Component 01 Media messages. For Section A – News, we ask students to study the following set product:
- ‘The Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feeds linked to from the main Mail Online and the Guardian websites.’
As the Guardian is no longer posting on X (formerly Twitter), we’ve amended these references in our specification.
Please note: We are continuing to use the Guardian websites and its Instagram and Facebook feeds as a set product in our A Level Media Studies specification.
The updated AS and A Level Media Studies specifications are available to view and download from our website and Teach Cambridge.
