Improved modified papers for GCSE Mathematics
14 October 2025
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the accessibility of our assessment materials, we're updating the formatting of the modified enlarged print question papers for GCSE Mathematics J560.
These changes include:
- improving the weight of our mathematical symbols and lines used for shapes and graphs to make sure they are increased in line with the font size increase
- raising decimal points so they are more visible
- increasing the size of fonts where superscript or subscript is used, eg x2 or x2, to make this clearer.
We have updated our examples of the GCSE Mathematics modified formulae sheets to reflect these changes for the November 2025 series.
You can download these modified formulae sheets from the Assessment > Exams > Question papers and mark schemes > Modified question papers area on Teach Cambridge.
We are also increasing the grid lines on graphs to be a minimum of 1.5cm apart instead of 1cm. This change applies to the Braille question papers too.
This change means A3 inserts may now come with papers to accommodate the increased size.
We're making all these improvements from the November 2025 series onwards.
