Updated Cambridge Advanced Nationals specifications
09 September 2025
We've updated our specifications for Cambridge Advanced Nationals to include new information on administering the qualifications and updates from the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ):
These updates help improve our guidance on how to register students, make unit and qualification entries, and submit outcomes and sample requests for moderation.
For all our Cambridge Advanced Nationals specifications we have:
- aligned wording with the JCQ Instructions for conducting non-examination assessments (VTQs), effective from September 2025
- added guidance to support your delivery and assessment in line with the JCQ requirements
- updated the guidance on registering students and making entries, submitting outcomes and the digital submission of sample work
- enhanced the guidance on using our set assignments, assessing student work and providing feedback, exam resits and NEA submissions
- updated the use of URS or recording sheets
- added a new look and feel to incorporate our new ‘Cambridge OCR’ brand.
Additional update for Cambridge Advanced National in Health and Social Care – H025/H125
Following teacher feedback, we’ve also made additional updates for the Health and Social Care specification:
- For Unit F092: Person-centred approach to care, we have updated the assessment guidance.
- For Unit F093: Supporting people with mental health conditions, we have amended the P7 assessment criteria to read ‘Explain the roles of three different mental health practitioners who could work with the individual in relation to their condition’, and added assessment guidance for M5.
You can view and download the updated specifications from the Cambridge Advanced Nationals qualification pages on our website and Teach Cambridge.
A summary of the changes, with a list of the updated sections, is shown at the front of each specification.
Please make sure you are using the latest versions of these specifications with your students from September 2025.
