Key date changes for GCSE, AS and A Level Physical Education

This update was first published on 6 October 2023. On 8 December 2023, we updated our Guide to NEA documents to reflect the revised mark submission and visit arrangement form deadlines. We also updated the sampling size requirements for AS and A Level Physical Education. We've now updated the arrangements for sending filmed evidence to OCR and provided details on the new visit arrangement form.
We've amended the key dates for the following qualifications:
Earlier mark submission deadline
We've amended the June series mark submission deadline. You must submit all marks by the deadline of 15 March:
- Overall component marks must be submitted via Interchange or EDI – see Non-exam assessment.
- Marks for each activity must be submitted using the PE mark input form for each qualification.
This means all marks are submitted before visits can start taking place. In previous years, it was possible for visits to take place before the marks deadline.
Later visit arrangement form deadline
We've changed the deadline for completing the visiting arrangement form. To arrange a visit, you must complete a visit arrangement form by 21 February.
We've moved this deadline later to align with the June series entry deadline.
Once we've received your form, your allocated moderator will contact you to make arrangements for your moderation visit from 1 March.
Updated sample size of on-site activities
For AS and A Level Physical Education, we have amended the sample size of on-site activities for which you need to keep filmed evidence. Please keep at least eight candidate performances, across at least three activities, encompassing a range of marks – ideally top, middle and lowest mark in each of the three activities.
Sending filmed evidence to OCR
New for this year, we are asking you to send a copy of the following to OCR rather than your moderator:
- GCSE, AS and A Level off-site filmed evidence and associated logbooks
- AS and A Level sample of on-site filmed evidence
Please send these by 15 March to OCR PE Filmed Evidence, Post Assessment Services, DC10, Hill Farm Road, Whittlesford, Cambridge CB22 4FZ – you’ll receive address labels for this at the start of March.

The visit arrangement form is available from OCR PE Submissions, a new area within our single sign-on service, My Cambridge. Please see our separate subject update for further details.
We’ll provide step-by-step guidance on how to submit component and activity marks for the June 2024 series before the start of February.
