Formulae and equation sheets for assessments in 2027

We have published the formulae and equation sheets for the 2027 exams. Teachers can use these materials now in teaching and mock assessments to help students become familiar with the resources they will receive in their exams. Further details are provided below.
As a reminder, following Ofqual's consultation, formulae and equations sheets will continue to be provided in GCSE Mathematics, Physics and Combined Science exams throughout the lifetime of the current specifications, including any resit opportunities.
GCSE Mathematics J560
For GCSE Mathematics, in both the June and November exams, students will continue to receive a formulae sheet alongside each of question paper.
Separate formulae sheets will be provided to Foundation tier and Higher tier students, as appropriate. The Higher tier formulae sheet includes additional formulae.
June 2027 and November 2027 series

To help students become familiar with the appropriate sheet for their tier, teachers can use the formulae sheets now in teaching and mock assessments.
Students will be provided with clean printed copies for each exam.
Formulae that have been provided in questions in previous years (eg curved surface area of a cone, surface area of a sphere, volume of a cone, volume of a sphere and kinematics formulae) will continue to be provided, as required, in questions on our GCSE Mathematics question papers. This means you can use our GCSE Mathematics past papers, alternative papers and practice papers with the 2027 formulae sheet to give students a mock exam that reflects the approach being used in the 2027 exams.
Level 3 FSMQ: Additional Mathematics 6993
Students sitting the Level 3 FSMQ: Additional Mathematics in June 2027 will be given an extra formulae sheet alongside the question paper.

To help students become familiar with the extra formulae sheet, teachers can use it now in teaching and mock assessments.
Students will be provided with a clean printed copy for each exam.
The formulae that are provided as standard for Level 3 FSMQ (eg expansion of the binomial series, binomial distribution, trapezium rule and the kinematics formulae for variable and constant acceleration) will still be provided at the front of the question paper in 2027. This means you can use our practice papers and past papers with the 2027 extra formulae sheet to give students a mock exam that reflects the approach being used in the 2027 exams.
The formulae included on the 2027 extra formulae sheet are the same as those on the formulae sheet that will be provided to Higher tier students in the 2027 GCSE Mathematics exams.
GCSE Physics J249, J259 and GCSE Combined Science J250, J260
For GCSE Physics and GCSE Combined Science, students will continue to receive a revised data/equation sheet as an insert in the question paper. The sheet will include all the physics equations from the specification.
